Our Dynamic Teachers and Students

The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 5162 in Madison recently honored the winners of their Teacher of the Year awards and student contests, which promote patriotism and American history. The Voice of Democracy contest, for high school students, had the theme “Is America Today Our Forefathers’ Vision?” Dillon Tremblay, a senior at JCHS, was the runner-up. The Patriot’s Pen contest, for middle school students, focused on “My Voice in America’s Democracy,” with Neil Dube, a 7th grader at Journey Middle School, winning. Amber Moore, an EL teacher at Heritage Elementary, was named Teacher of the Year, with Brooke Sigler and Rachel McGee as runners-up. The VFW contests offer over $2 million in scholarships and foster a deeper understanding of American democracy.
